It is important to always choose the right sling during loading. Lightweight and easy to use, slings help you lift heavy loads securely. Thanks to their versatility, slings are designed to carry loads that a wire or chain sling can lift. The safety factor of the maximum load size these slings can handle is specified as a ratio. Woven slings are produced in 8 different colours. The distribution of the tonnage calculation of the loads that the slings can carry according to the colours is as follows:
Tonnage Calculation Distribution of Lifting Slings by Colour:
- Purple: 1 tone
- Green: 2 tones
- Yellow: 3 tones
- Grey: 4 tones
- Red: 5 tones
- Brown: 6 tones
- Blue: 8 tones
- Orange: up to 10 tones.
Information on Using Lifting Slings
Polyester slings are specially processed, as they are flexible, durable and resistant. It is suitable for use in harsh and dangerous environments. During production, they are subjected to surface cleaning treatments to keep moisture out, increase wear resistance and prevent the penetration of particles such as oil and dirt that may cause damage. The information on using the slings varies according to the lifting weight of each load and the type of product. Once you know which colour sling is best suited for your job, you can minimise the risk of injury during use.
Straight Lifting with a Sling: For these slings, the lifting point must be perpendicular to the central point of gravity.
Lifting with Two Equal-Length Slings: For these slings, the lifting point should be equally perpendicular to the centre of gravity on both sides. The two slings used in this type of lifting must be made of the same raw material in terms of equal stretch value.
Lifting with Three – Four Slings: Lift points for these slings must be on the same plane and centre. The centre should be distributed around the centre of gravity and be perpendicular.
What Should Be Considered When Using a Lifting Sling?
When attaching your sling, you can spread the weight of the load to the sling as much as possible. If you are using more than one lifting sling, you must ensure that the weight is evenly distributed between them to ensure they are stable and to reduce the risk of tipping or falling during lifting. There are also a few things to consider to ensure you don’t accidentally damage your sling while in use. You should absolutely avoid dragging the sling on the floor or other surfaces and pulling the sling while it is attached to a load.
